The Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has donated food items to the Kumasi Children’s Home on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

Government’s decision to partially lockdown some communities in Ghana has resulted in difficulties to come Ghanaians in the affected areas and according to the Minister, the orphanage are no exception.

 

 

As part of efforts to assist the government’s vision to address some of the challenges arising out of the Covid-19 virus in Ghana, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South presented bags of rice and boxes of cooking oil to the Kumasi Children’s Home.

“My donation today, which is part of spiritual and social obligation, is also aimed at helping managers of the home to feed the children well so that they will stay home and adhere to the government’s lockdown order to help stop the speed of the virus,” he wrote.

 

 

He pleaded to productive men and corporate bodies to support the course in such a challenging time to feed the vulnerable as the nation combat the COVID-19 virus.

“I am also using this opportunity to appeal to Ghanaians, especially the well-to-do people in our midst, to constantly donate to the various orphanage homes in order to support the children, who have no parents to turn look up to for support and care,” he added.
