Ghanaian artiste, Kuami Eugene, has said that his comments towards DopeNation were a joke and if the duo does not see it like that it's their problem.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Award's Artist of the Year had earlier said that he was happy that DopeNation had left his record label, Lynx Entertainment, to go find greener pastures because what was now meant for four will be shared amongst two people; himself and KiDi.

DopeNation was quick to fire back at him, as they stated that they always knew Kuami Eugene has no manners and that they are aware that their former label mate does not know how to talk to others.

Reacting to DopeNation's statement, Kuami Eugene has now said that everyone obviously knows that his comments about things now being shared between himself and KiDi were a joke while speaking in an interview with McCall Mensah aka the Axeman on ‘Y Entertainment Podium’ on Y 97.9 FM.

He maintained that he is not responsible if DopeNation takes it personal what he said, but he knows within himself that it was a joke.

"Today you are at YFM, your colleagues in the studio are your friends, so you joke with them. If they leave YFM, they are still your friends and joke with them and they take offense, it’s their problem. If a comedian makes a joke and you don’t laugh it’s your problem.’’

The artiste then claimed that DopeNation probably needed to feed on his joke to trend.

"We used to joke when we were at Lynx, maybe they want hype that is why they are extending this issue. But for me, they are still my brothers,"

The burgeoning artiste noted that people should respect his style of music more since he is the king of highlife.

"When they say, we are spoiling High-life music, I am not part. I was crowned King of High-Life. I want to make an impact, I want to be the first to do something. I don’t have time for critics. I have seventy (70) award nominations and won seven (7) International awards. Locally, I have twenty-five (25) plaques to my credit"

"I have to take the ‘Rock Star’ higher and now move to Son of Africa, Africa’s number one (1). Taking Ghana to the rest of the world’’ he said.
