The agent of Arsenal Defender, David Luiz says a deal could be struck between the Gunners and the Brazilian by the end of the week.

David Luiz has been in the news this week following a series of errors that led to Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, in Matchday 29 of the Premier League.

Luiz’s deflected ball in defense gifted Raheem Sterling the first goal for City late in the first half as a rough tackle on Riyad Mahrez in the penalty box led to his exit and a penalty awarded for Kevin Debruyne to score having been introduced 24-minutes following the injury of Pablo Mari.

The 33-year old attributed his below pal performance on his contractual instability after signing an initial 12-month contract last season when he joined on deadline day from Chelsea.

"It's not the team's fault, it was my fault," he told Sky Sports. "Today I think the team did well, especially with 10 men, the coach is amazing, the players did amazing, it's just my fault.

"I took the decision to play, I should have taken another decision in the last two months, but I didn't. It was all about my contract, whether I stay or not. I have 14 days to be here, and that's it. Today was my fault.”

The Daily Mail claims that Luiz is after a two-year contract extension while the Gunners are only willing to offer one more year to keep the former Chelsea man at the Emirates.

His agent has revealed that all will be sorted out this week.
