Covid-19: We’ve Missed Our Church Members, Not their Money – Sam Korankye Ankrah

The Apostle General of Royalhouse Chapel International has bemoaned the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Church and its activities.

Sam Korankye Ankrah said the ban on public gatherings due to the outbreak, has consequently affected the Church’s spiritual aspirations.

Speaking on Joy News’ ‘Beyond the Lockdown’ show, he asserted that, the outcry of pastors for the lifting of the ban is not financially inspired, rather to ensure the spiritual growth of their members.

“I have cried and cried. My tears have finished. We miss our Church members. We don’t want their money. We miss worshipping with them as we importantly consider their spiritual growth”

Calling for the lifting of the ban on public gatherings, Reverend Korankye Ankrah noted that, churches are ready to observe all safety protocols particularly social distancing to ensure that congregants do not contract the deadly virus when they come for church service.

“We are ready to contain the disease should the ban be lifted. We are ready to control the numbers, follow the etiquette and the protocols, do multiple services with smaller numbers.

“We will be responsible and manage it better than what is going on in our market places where the spread is going on now,” he stated.

Explaining the need for physical instead of virtual church services, Reverend Korankye Ankrah said, although the church is the body of a human being, people coming together for one common purpose of worship is very significant and must not be taken for granted.

Meanwhile, the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa has extended the ban on public gatherings till the end of May.
