COVID-19 : Nigeria's Total Infection Surpass 65,000, 152 New Cases Recorded

According to NCDC, 65,457 cases have been confirmed, 61,337 cases have been discharged and 1,163 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Tuesday night, announced a total of 152 new cases of COVID-19 in the country bringing the total number of confirmed infection to 65,457.

NCDC did not report any case of death, leaving the number of deaths recorded so far at 1,163.

Lagos, the epicentre of the disease in Nigeria recorded 61 new cases.

The health agency announced this via its Twitter handle last night.

The number of recoveries from the disease across various isolation centres in the country has surpassed 61,000.

''Till date, 65,457 cases have been confirmed, 61,337 cases have been discharged and 1,163 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 152 new cases are reported from 12 states- Lagos (61), Oyo (39), FCT (13), Yobe (10), Bauchi (6), Kaduna (5), Kano (4), Kwara (4), Plateau (4), Edo (2), Ogun (2), Rivers (2).

A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 22,562, followed by Abuja (6,385), Plateau (3,724), Oyo (3,693), Rivers (2,916), Kaduna (2,778), Edo (2,690), Ogun (2,103), Delta (1,823), Kano (1,768), Ondo (1,722), Enugu (1,332),  Kwara (1,088), Ebonyi (1,055), Katsina (965), Osun (942), Gombe (938). Abia (926), Bauchi (750), and Borno (745).

Imo State has recorded 648  cases, Benue (493), Nasarawa (485), Bayelsa (426),  Ekiti (346), Jigawa (325), Akwa Ibom (319), Niger (286), Anambra (285), Adamawa (261), Sokoto (165), Taraba (155), Kebbi (93), Yobe (92), Cross River (89), Zamfara (79), while Kogi state has recorded 5 cases only.
