COVID-19: Nigeria's Tally Hits 55,632 with 176 New Cases Recorded

So far, 55632 cases have been confirmed, 43610 cases have been discharged and 1070 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Nigeria has reported 176 new cases bringing the confirmed cases in the country to 55,632.

An update of the coronavirus pandemic shared on the Nigeria Center for Disease Control’s Twitter handle on Wednesday night showed FCT with the highest cases for the day with 40.

NCDC tweeted: "On the 9th of September 2020, 176 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 3,909 samples across the country.

"To date, 55,632 cases have been confirmed, 43,610 cases have been discharged and 1,070 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

A total of 430,712 tests have been carried out as of September 9th, 2020 compared to 426,803 tests a day earlier.

The 176 new cases were reported from 17 states- FCT (40), Lagos (34), Plateau (26), Enugu (14), Delta (12), Ogun (12), Ondo (9), Oyo (8), Ekiti (6), Ebonyi (4), Adamawa (2), Nasarawa (2), Kwara (2), Rivers (2), Edo (1), Osun (1), Bauchi (1).

 

 

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 18,456, followed by Abuja (5,375), Oyo (3,209), Plateau (2,954), Edo (2,603), Kaduna (2,214), Rivers (2,195), Delta (1,780), Kano (1,728), Ogun (1,715), Ondo (1,575), Enugu (1,198), Ebonyi (1,034), Kwara (989), Katsina (819), Abia (816), Osun (803), Gombe (746), Borno (741), and Bauchi (671).

Imo State has recorded 537 cases, Benue (460), Nasarawa (443), Bayelsa (391),  Jigawa (322), Ekiti (293), Akwa Ibom (283), Niger (244), Adamawa (228), Anambra (226), Sokoto (159),  Kebbi (93), Taraba (91), Cross River (83), Zamfara (78), Yobe (67), while Kogi state has recorded 5 cases only.
