Covid-19: Ghana’s Cases Spike to 5,530 with 674 recoveries

Ghana’s case count of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has increased to 5,530

The number of recovered persons has also risen to 674.

This was disclosed by the Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Badu Sarkodie at a press briefing today [May 14, 2020] on Covid-19 updates.

He noted that, a significant number of persons are still waiting to be officially cleared as fully recovered from the virulent disease.

“Indeed, we have done quite significant number of persons, who have done the first test which is negative, and are waiting for the second test results to declare them fully recovered” he noted

Giving a breakdown of the new cases, he mentioned that; there have been 57 new cases in the Greater Accra Region, 62 new cases in the Ashanti Region, two new cases in the Central Region and one in the Western North Region.

The death count still stands at 24 with the death to positivity rate standing at 0.43 percent, the Ghana Health Service has noted.
