Covid-19: Drinking Bars are also to Remain Closed – Ministry of Tourism Clarifies

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has swiftly responded to an earlier directive by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) on the reopening of the hospitality sector.

The Ministry overturned the directive that drinking bars can now be opened.

A statement from the Tourism Ministry noted that all drinking bars and night clubs should remain closed, as part of efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The statement also clarified that, “food chains and restaurants (including Hotel restaurants) can operate takeout and delivery services only” not “sit-ins” as earlier indicated by the GTA.
