Thibaut Courtois is likely to miss Real Madrid’s UEFA Champiosn league second leg fixture against Manchester City at the Etihad next week.

The Belgian injured his adductor muscle in his left leg and was seen limping after Madrid’s 2-1 loss to Real Betis on Sunday night at the Andalusia.

Courtois has been phenomenal for Los Blancos this season in post and his absence second choice goalkeeper, Alphonse Areola a space to fill.

He is expected to step in as the Belgian will not be involved in Friday's LaLiga Santander game against Eibar.

Madrid is expected to overturn a 2-1 deficit suffered in the hands of Pep Guardiola's men at the Santiago Bernabeu to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne wrapped up the game in favor of the Citizens after Isco had earlier given the home side the lead in the 60th minute.

Captain Sergio Ramos will also miss the game after been red-carded for a rough tackle.
