Coronavirus: Rawlings’ Office Shuts Down Over Fears

The Office of former President, Jerry John Rawlings has been closed down over concerns of spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

 A statement from the Communications Directorate of Mr Rawlings’ Office yesterday [July 9] explained that “the decision which is aimed at protecting staff and potential visitors will be reviewed after two weeks.”

Mr Rawlings urged Ghanaians to adhere to the safety protocols laid out by health experts to curb the spread of the virus.

“All Ghanaians to be mindful of their personal discipline and care as we work to combat the disease.”

The statement said, members of the general public who would wish to contact the office have been directed to do so via email – [email protected][email protected].

In other development, Rawlings yesterday participated in the ongoing mass voters' registration exercise.

Mr Rawlings on Thursday, July 9 visited the PWD Maintenance Unit Castle registration centre in the Klottey Korle constituency of the Greater Accra Region to sign up for a new voters’ identity card.
