Pressure group, Right Alliance Africa, has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to suspend its plans to compile a new biometric voters’ register on April 18 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in Ghana.

According to the group, the EC should as a precautionary measure, suspend its decision until government brings the outbreak under control.

“We are…calling on the EC to take precaution to suspend the plans to conduct the new Biometric Voters Register until the government brings the COVID-19 under control and prevention,” the group said in a statement.
