Miss Nigeria Nyekachi Douglas is being celebrated for her heartwarming reaction after losing Miss World.

In a tweet on official their Twitter handle, CNN said: " Miss Nigeria has set a new standard for how we want our friends to react to our successes. Nyekachi Douglas didn't hold back when she heard the 2019 Miss World winner was her fellow contestant, Toni-Ann Singh, who represented Jamaica."

Nyekachi Douglas was amongst the five finalists and it was expected that would be sad or perhaps put up a superficial smile, however, her reaction was explosive and touching as she was the loudest of the contestants.

Singh was stunned and barely celebrated. Nyekachi was later crowned Miss World Africa.

Singh, the 69th Miss World, said she was "honoured and grateful for this opportunity but most of all I'm thinking about the work that needs to be done and that I have the platform and the means to do it," after receiving her crown.

23-year-old Singh is a graduate of Florida State University. She graduated with a degree in psychology and women's studies. By her feat, it means that for the first time in history, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss America are all black women.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike was not left out of the excitement as he retweeted CNN's posts and said: "Congratulations Miss Nigeria, Nyekachi Douglas you won the heart of the world through your selflessness and show of true friendship.

"You not only won MIss World Africa but showed the beauty of an African heart."
