The value of players on Chelsea’s radar means the Blues need extra funds to finance the purchase of two additions to their squad ahead of the 2020-2021 season.

The English club have already agreed personal terms with Timo Werner subject to medicals after accepting to pay €50m (£45m) to trigger the release clause of the German, who is set to earn more than €10m (£9m) per season in England.

The Daily Mail reports that Roman Abramovich has already bankrolled moves for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig (£53million) and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax (£36.6m) and Frank Lampard has been told that further additions would have to be funded through player sales.

Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz would value in the region of £160m and if Lampard demands the services of those players, money must be raised by selling out players to support the acquisition.

According to The Times, Chelsea are willing to sell N’Golo Kante to raise extra funds to bring in the two players for further reinforcements.

Real Madrid were earlier reported to be interested in the French International and the alert seems to be a message to the attention of the long-term suitors.

Kante has been sublime in Chelsea’s midfield since he joined from Leicester in 2016 in a five-year deal reported to be within an amount of £32 million. He has mostly been ruled out of Chelsea’s matches in the current season by injury.
