Charterhouse Postpones 2020 VGMA Nominee’s Jam

Charterhouse Ghana, Organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has indefinitely postponed their 2020 Nominees jam which was slated for April 4, due to the spread of the  Coronavirus. 

The Nominees Jam is a major part of the entire VGMA, where all the nominees come to page their to perform their songs for the fans in one venue. This year’s jam was expected to happen on the 4th of April in the Eastern region, but has now been called off due to government restrictions on public gatherings. 

The Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse said that the postponement became necessary because of the recently confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ghana and the administration's directives on public gathering.

The Governement is cracking down on individuals who have decided to flout the ban, as a prophetess who decided to hold a public gathering in the name of a prayer camp was arrested. The camp was also shut down. The whole country has to adhere to the laws if the Coronavirus scare is to pass. 

He said: A new date will be announced later, subject to further National Directives on Public Gathering,” The events company also apologized to all musicians and music lovers in Ghana for "any inconveniences caused."

 “Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted. We would like to use this opportunity to remind the general public to follow the preventive measures issued by the Ghana Health Service, and comply with Government’s recent.”  

Ghana has just recently officially confirmed its 7th case with more than 180 contacts in total, if they viruses is to be curbed the whole country must get behind the administration in a bid to unite against the deadly virus.
