CAF Open Safety and Security Workshop in Cairo

The Workshop started on the 14th and will end tommorrow, 15th October 2019. It is aimed at ensuring the protection and security of football fans, players and officials before and after games.

The Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mouad Hajji has opened a Safety and Security Workshop today in Cairo.

The two-day workshop themed; “Promoting Stadium and Security” is aimed at ensuring the protection and security of football fans, players and officials before and after games.

The programme is under the backing of FIFA through its forward Programme with the foresight to equip National Security Officers within CAF’s 54-54 Member Associations with the skills, expertise and knowledge of International best practices in stadium safety and security.

 

 

The workshop is patronized by Safety and Security representatives from each Member Associations and will engage an extensive discussions on ways to secure games and guarantee fans, officials and players’ safety.

The workshop is also meant to develop capacity among the National Security Officers of Member Associations, exchange opinions and ideas on the challenges faced by National Security Officers whilst carrying out their duties and introduce the new CAF Safety and Security regulations as minimum standards to be adopted for any CAF organized match.

 

 

Among other reasons, the program will reinforce the need for National Security Officers to upscale the importance of safety and security planning and execution phases in all matches within their domain and get a firm commitment from all Member Associations to improve safety and security standards in their respective jurisdictions.

It will also help to establish effective networking and cooperation among National Security Officers according to Dr. Emeruwa, CAF’s head of Safety and Security.
