Ansu Fati's father doesn't believe that the 17-year-old should be starting for Barcelona just yet.

In what is his debut season with the first team, Ansu Fati has impressed at the Camp Nou and even more so since returning from the break.

"He cannot be a starter," Bori Fati, the player's father, told Cadena SER.

"There's still a long way to go and we're talking about Barcelona, not Alaves or Mallorca.

"There's a lot to learn. They're the best club in the world."

When asked about Real Madrid's performances this season, Bori Fati shifted the conversation back to the Catalans.

"Barcelona are Barcelona," he said.

"Let's go slowly and that's it, let's see who comes out on top.

"I haven't seen much of Madrid, I always watch Barcelona.

"I don't usually see Madrid unless they play Barcelona."

A number of clubs are now keeping tabs on Ansu Fati, though, namely Manchester United.

"I've heard [about the interest]," he said.

"We're comfortable at Barcelona, in this cule family.

"Everyone who leaves Barcelona wants to return. Ansu is living a dream here so why would he want more?

"We owe Barcelona a lot, we're happy here and I can't imagine things there [in Manchester].
