Black Lives Matter: Nigerian Pastor 'Reburies' George Floyd in Imo state

True Pictures are circulating online about the reburial of George Floyd, the black American matyrr killed by policemen in America which led to a wide outbreak of protests across America.

A Nigerian clergyman, Pastor Humble Okoro, has carried out a funeral service for late George Floyd in Mbaise, Imo State.

It was gathered that Pastor Okoro while carrying out the funeral, said

“I have traced the ancestral root of George Obinna Floyd to Umuoffor kindred in Obokwu obibi Aboh Mbaise Imo State and I feel so happy now that we have reburied him alongside with his ancestors.”

 

46-year-old Floyd was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill in May this year. He was buried in Houston on June 6.

George Floyd, whose death sparked worldwide protests, was laid to rest on Tuesday, 9th June 2020 next to his mother Larcenia Floyd in Houston. 

Floyd served nearly five years in prison for robbery with a deadly weapon before becoming a mentor and a church outreach volunteer in Houston.

 

 

He moved to Minnesota several years ago through a program that tried to change men’s lives by helping them find work in new settings.

At the time of his death, Floyd was out of work as a bouncer at a Minneapolis club that had closed because of the coronavirus outbreak. He was seized by police after being accused of passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a convenience store.
