Belgium is the first team to qualify to next year’s EURO 2020 tournament.

They equaled their largest margin of victories with Romelu Lukaku scoring his 50th and 51st international goals after thrashing San Marino by 9-0 yesterday. The Red Devils have won their seven matches played racking 21 points with 27 goals.

Russia is second with 18 points and could join Belgium if they grab a win on Sunday against Cyprus.

They trounced Scotland by 4-0 on Thursday. It took until the 57th minute for Artem Dzyuba to open the scoring, followed quickly by Magomed Ozdoev’s magnificent strike. Dzyuba converted again moments later, and a deflated Scotland held on before a fourth from Aleksandr Golovin finally ended their hopes of automatic qualification; they will now definitely.

The first two teams will automatically qualify from each group. Unlike previous play-offs, these will be single-leg knockout matches. In each path, teams will be ranked 1st to 4th based on the overall UEFA Nations League rankings. The semi-finals of each play-off path will be as follows:

Team ranked 1st v team ranked 4th

Team ranked 2nd v team ranked 3rd

For each play-off final, a draw takes place on 22 November to determine which semi-final winner plays at home. The winners of each final qualifies for UEFA EURO 2020.

The opening match will take place at the Stadio Olympico in Rome before Wembley honors the final game. Other venues include the Allianz Arena, Baku Olympic Stadium, St. Petersburg in Russia and many others scattered across Europe.
