Bayern Munich have plans of replacing Thiago Alcantara if the player leaves at the end of the Champions League campaign.

Thiago has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League following his refusal to sign a new contract with Bayern. Reports earlier indicated that the Reds have already agreed on personal terms with the 29-year old having already had a £ 10m bid rejected by Bayern Munich.

The Bavarian have already dropped that the Spaniard would only be allowed to leave if an offer £ 25m is received and the Reds since seem to have relaxed on negotiations having already signed Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos on Monday.

According to Han Flick of the Bavarians in an interview with Sport Bild, it is certain that Thiago would be leaving at the end of the current campaign.

“Thiago played for Barcelona and seven years for Bayern Munich. He wants a new challenge, which, in my opinion, should be the Premier League.

“He is a very important player for us, who gives the team that certain something and we have to replace him with the same quality.”

Enquiries have also been made by PSG on the former Barca player but the player’s focus is at Anfield as he seeks to work with Jurgen Klopp in the new season.
