Josep Maria Bartomeu has roll-called Barca players, not for sale.

A major whirlwind is on course in the Catalan club following the sack of Quique Setien on Monday from his coaching duties.

Sporting director, Eric Abidal was discharged off his duties in a statement released by Barcelona on Tuesday afternoon.

"Barcelona and Eric Abidal have reached an agreement for the ending of the contract that united the two parties," the club said in an official statement.

"The club would publicly like to thank Eric Abidal for his professionalism, commitment, dedication, and the close and positive nature of his relationship with all aspects of the Blaugrana family."

The playing body is set to experience changes with some tired legs set to be replaced.

According to the president, a restructuring is in process to define results to their favor.

"Who's not for sale? Leo Messi," Bartomeu told Barca TV.

"He knows that. He's the best player in the world.

"We'd also be talking about [Marc-Andre] Ter Stegen, [Nelson] Semedo, [Frenkie] de Jong, [Clement] Lenglet, [Ousmane] Dembele... [Antoine] Griezmann too.

Barca’s setbacks were exposed after their record 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the Champions League last Friday.

Ronald Koeman's official appointment as head coach is set to be announced soon.

The president added that the club's finances have been hit the COVID hence the need to sell a few for new additions.

"Barça have a salary limit problem. There is money, but Covid-19 has caused the income to decrease and, therefore, we have to reduce the team's salary mass to be able to bring in new players"
