Mikel Arteta has assured Arsenal fans that the transfer window is far from over for the Gunners.

The Premier League season resumes on Saturday, September 12, 2020, and the Gunners heads to Craven Cottage to play Fulham in the opening fixture of the new season.

Chelsea, Manchester City, United, and a few are busy in the transfer window bringing in additions to reinforce their squad. Arteta's side has so far acquired the services of Gabriel from Lille for £27m and Chelsea’s Willian on a free transfer. Dani Ceballos has rejoined the Reds on a second successive season loan.

The Gunners have Thomas Partey’s deal to transaction to strengthen their midfield, as Houssem Aouar has also been associated with the London side.

Arteta has assured fans that the transfer business is not over yet - expecting a few players to come through the door with three weeks left to close the transfer window in Europe.

“We are still active in the market, we are looking at different options,” he said on the eve of Arsenal’s Premier League opener away to newly-promoted Fulham.

“We are active in the market with players in and out, at the moment the squad balance is not ideal.

“There is still some work to do, but we have to bear in mind the complications of this market. The complexity and as well the timing because you can see that clubs are behaving in many different ways and it is a bit uncertain how this is going to evolve in the next few weeks. Numbers-wise, some positions are overbooked. Some others, in terms of the specific qualities we need, are still not there.”

The manager also spoke they are lenient regarding Aubameyang’s new contract extension amplifying that the player is happy to continue playing at the Emirates.

"He is really happy here. He wants to keep improving and contributing to the team. I know how good he is and the impact he is having. The way he has been training and conducting himself has been excellent.”
