Joshua became a two-time world heavyweight champion by winning his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday night, but immediately has Oleksandr Usyk (WBO) and Pulev (IBF) circling as his two mandatory challengers.

Joshua answered his critics by beating Andy Ruiz Jr to reclaim his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles in Saudi Arabia.

It wasn’t the prettiest fight, but AJ was in control throughout and won by unanimous decision as he outboxed the Mexican, who had secured a shock win over the Brit at Madison Square Garden six months ago.

Ruiz now wants a third crack at Joshua in the future, although it is likely the 30-year-old will have bigger fish to fry – with Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury likely to be in his sights in 2020.

It’s set to be a cracker of a heavyweight division next year as that trio battle for supremacy.
