Angry Prampram Youth Demonstrate Against GFA Decision To Offer Ghanaman Centre For Use Of COVID-19 Isolation Centre

Prampram residents have demonstrated against the Ghana Football Association`s decision to give the Prampram Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence for use as an isolation centre forCOVID-19 patients.

The Ghana FA announced that they be willing to offer the 1000-bed facility to the government should the need arise for them to use it in the fight against this deadly virus.

Barely 24 hours later after the released, the angry youth hit the streets at Prampram to offer their displeasure.

In a statement released 11th April, 2020, the FA said:

“Through our Medical Committee, we have gotten in touch with the authorities to make them aware that our facility at Prampram is available for use”, said General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo.

“The centre of Excellence is spacious and we think, the facility can be of great help to the government in this challenging times”.

When approve the centre can serve patients from Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta regions, taking into consideration its strategic location.

Meanwhile. Some angry youth in Prampram say they won’t allow the government to use the facility which is in their community.

They claim it would be dangerous to their families if infected patients are brought there since the disease is highly infectious and contagious.

Ghana’s situation of the virus is gradually increasing with 566 confirmed cases.
