The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, has denied there was no rancour between her and President Muhammadu Buhari, which forced her to stay away from the country for an unusually extended period.

The wife of Nigeria President, Aisha Buhari reported that President Buhari is not taking another wife, claiming she stayed back in United States because of doctor's report.

On Friday, Nigerians were eagerly waiting for President Muhammadu Buhari to turned up at the jummat prayer at the Presidential Villa Mosque, to see him take the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, as his second wife.

However, that never happened, which put to rest rumours making the rounds that the President would marry the 44-year-old minister on Friday at the Central Mosque, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja at 2pm.

Mrs Buhari openly told Nigerians shortly after she returned to Abuja around 5 am on Sunday morning that she was in the United Kingdom to be with her children.

She said she also saw her doctors while she was there, adding that she has always travelled out for vacation for six weeks every year. This, she said, was nothing unusual.

Mrs Buhari arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja via a British Airways flight.
