An Accra circuit court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Afia Schwarzenegger's former husband, Lawrence Abrokwah, for failing to appear before it twice after he had been summoned.

He is being charged with two counts of domestic violence to wit emotional, verbal and psychological abuse, threat of harm, assault, publication of obscene material, carrying offensive weapon, causing unlawful damage and stealing, after he failed to appear in court initially.

Afia Claimed that her husband stole the sum of $2,000 and 500 pounds after he caught her cheating with another man in retaliation to her actions.

The court presided over by Mrs. Justice Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, a High Court judge siting as an additional Circuit court judge, was expected to deliver its judgement on Monday, March 23, 2020, but the accused's counsel told the court that his client was nowhere to be found after he tried to put several calls through to him, the court therefore issued a bench warrant for his arrest and adjourned the matter to April 1.

Schwarzenegger, and Abrokwah were legally married and lived together at Dome Pillar Two, a suburb of Accra, in the house of the complainant. Abrokwah packed his things and left the house for Dansoman, following persistent misunderstanding between them.

Abrokwah was informed by his house help that his wife was cheating on him so he traced her whereabouts and found her naked in bed with another man, he held a knife and a bottle "filled with acid" and threatened them with it till he made a video of them and made it viral. It was during the whole fracas that Afia claimed that her money was missing and therefore it must have been stolen by her ex-husband.
